I took my nephew to Giggles yesterday due to Lemur Landings having no play area available for under 2's, as they are having refurbishments.
On first impressions, the place was very crowded and quite a small play area for the amount of people there. There were 2 parties going on at the same time, so there was no space in the cafe to sit and have a coffee or something to eat, however we finally managed to grab a table, right around the back of the play area, so quite inconvient, considering the under 2's play area was no where to be seen from our table.
The play area is a good size and accommodates for all ages, with different areas for different ages. However due to the size of the play area, this mean the cafe and surrounding areas to sit are very limited and minimal.
There are no children's shoes allowed in the centre, so shoes are taken at the reception, to be collected on your way out, so much like bowling in that sense. I don't know if this is a good idea or not, as my nephew has only just learnt to walk and so needs his shoes for support when walking.
During our time there, we did order some food, which I must let you know, took at least 45 mins to 1 hour to come, which wasn't great.
When it did come though, it went cold within seconds.
We had cheesy chips and a cheese toastie, which looked presentable with tortilla chips and a side salad, however due to it getting cold so quickly, the cheese became like a glue and when picking up one chip, the whole pile came as well.
I would say, if I went again, I wouldn't steer clear of the toasted and or cheese items and maybe go with a sandwich, wrap or some fish fingers/chicken nuggets.
It may have just been a busy day at the office due to the parties, but overall, a great play area, not so great cafe.
